Make it stand out.

It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.

Don’t worry about sounding professional. Sound like you. There are over 1.5 billion websites out there, but your story is what’s going to separate this one from the rest. If you read the words back and don’t hear your own voice in your head, that’s a good sign you still have more work to do.

Be clear, be confident and don’t overthink it. The beauty of your story is that it’s going to continue to evolve and your site can evolve with it. Your goal should be to make it feel right for right now. Later will take care of itself. It always does.

The Process.

In an ideal world, the colorist would be brought onto at the start of a project to create some looks for the project and asses the best capture choices to benefit the envisioned aesthetic.

Media delivery can be done via hard drive over mail or internet transfer. For internet transfers there are some techniques that allow for the file size to be minimized with no loss in quality.

Once the edit is locked, the colorist can begin the conform process. In the conform process, the edit is brought from the non linear editor (NLE) into the color correction software. This step ensures that approved edit is an exact match so the colorist begin working without having to make any further adjustments to the edit.

Grading begins once the edit has been conformed. At this step it is key to communicate the vision for the project. This can be conveyed in a number of different ways with mood boards depicting various looks and color palettes. Client sessions can be set up locally and remote.
